Updated VAIO P has little extra in features compared to old Vaio
With new scientific inventions taking place daily, new updated inventions of computers too are being churned out impacting the whole concept of having latest hi-fi machine.
A review by Engadget.com about where the latest Vaio P computer stands vis-a vis the old Vaio P was not very encouraging for the old Vaio P in the sense that it didn’t have certain basic inputs, whereas now it is claimed that the latest machine has little to add upon that.
Vaio is a sub-brand of Sony’s many PC products. It’s called as Visual Audio Intelligence organizer. The old Vaio sported Atom Z530, 2GB memory and G4GB SSD, while the all new Vaio P is even now featured with a track point that on being coupled with touchpad can offer users many options of interacting.
But what makes it ‘’not a popular buy’’ in the consumer’s list, let’s get to know.
Though it has high resolution, it is not suited to 8’’ display as then the users have to lean closer to the screen in order to read the text.
For this, a solution was found out. Resolution-changing button was introduced that could act as zoom in and zoom out function but even this couldn’t help users. Another negative aspect is that it doesn’t have the super fast Z60, gets slow in updating the screen and does not respond during leggy moments.
No just this, system’s performance could be hampered with just 30GBs of free space on its SSD. Comparatively, new Vaio has little to offer. One of the good features of the new Vaio P is that it is ultra-portable weighing only 600 grams.
The all-round color design looks better and keyboard is finger-friendly. The touchpad is nice and responsive. Accelometer allows use for reading e-books or viewing web pages with less scrolling. But besides these, its other features aren’t up to the mark.
New Vaio P possesses a four cell battery, but has low battery life. Engadget.com adds that it also lacks in adjustment of the screen’s brightness to readable levels when the system is outside as it does not have a light sensor, which relates to surrounding area on all sides.
Its central processing unit (CPU) and Graphics Processing unit needs updating. Another weak point is that the system does not a have a matte screen. Engadget.com clarified that Vaio needed a touch screen as an additional feature, while Sony should ponder over the core components of system before embarking upon including such a feature.
Though there is a lot to commend about new Vaio P, it cannot be a perfect MID. And if you are seriously looking for decent portable friend, then look somewhere else as at $799, I don’t think you would get that you are planning to have. With all the more exorbitant price, new Vaio is ‘’not to buy’’ computer for consumers.
