Two New HTC Handset Spotted At FCC En Route to T-Mobile
T-Mobile has plans to launch two new HTC handsets, the T-Mobile G2 and Glacier. The two latest handsets, part of T-Mobile’s Project Emerald, are now officially available, but their existence on this network is doubtful. So, it is still to be resolved.
It must have been quite fresh in our minds that Android OS-based is the first phone to be rolled out on the airwaves of T-Mobile. So, it would be needless to say what the people’s expectations are from the upcoming device.
The code name PC10100 for new HTC device has been already approved by FCC to give support for AWS 3G bands. So, there is every probability that this very device is the next T-Mobile device named as G2.
This new phone by HTC will be supporting 802.11n WiFi and HSPA, thereby facilitating easy connection with other devices.
Besides, the G2 is also touted to be the first handset that will run at 4G speed. The G2 too touts to feature touch-screen interface and a 3.2-MP camera like its predecessor. To top it all, the G2 will open your gateway to a number of Google services such as Gmail, Google maps, Gtalk and more right from your phone.
The second phone to join the league is the T-Mobile HTC Glacier. The multi-core phone is also the first such mobile phone, which will come built-in with Android platform with HSPA connectivity, and will the feature of the dual-core processor.
However, a dual-core processor is not a thing to cheer about much as Qualcomm is ready with their multi-core processor to launch. But in GLBenchmark 1.1 database, Glacier pulled up to 1432 frames that was higher than iPhone’s 1016 frames, the HTC Evo’s 516 frames and DROID X’s 856 frames. So, it seems that the dual-core processor we are talking about now is the one that the tech world had been waiting for so long.
Also, it has been assumed that probably the G2 handset will not be available for the US customers. Rumors have it that rather Glacier will be available for the US customers.
But one thing is for sure, since both the devices are so surrounded by rumors, it is very certain that we will see at least one of them launching soon.
