Toshiba Brings Windows Mobile K01 In US And IS02 In Japan

After making a brief appearance at the Mobile World Congress, Toshiba K01 was waiting for FCC’s permission before it could be officially unveiled in the American market. Finally, FCC has given its go-ahead signal to Toshiba K01.

Moreover, Toshiba has further expanded the market of its upcoming smart phone by launching it in Japan, where it will be called Toshiba IS02. Other than the difference in nomenclature, both K01 and IS02 share the same technical features.Features of Toshiba K01/IS02
Toshiba K01, as the phone will be called in US, and IS02, as the smartphone will be called in Japan is a stunning smart device running on the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system. The Qualcomm Snapdragon1GHz processor will provide super fast speed to the upcoming Toshiba device. The large 4.1 inches touchscreen display of the Toshiba Windows Mobile handset will provide sharp and clear images. Besides displaying high-resolution images, the OLED screen will suck less battery juice, increasing the battery life of Toshiba K01 or IS02.

Along with the virtual keyboard equipped in the touch sensitive screen of the smartphone, this Toshiba handset is equipped with a side slide out full QWERTY keyboard, suitable for users who prefer the tactile sensation of real keys. Despite including a slide out keyboard, Toshiba has managed to keep the thickness of the device less than 13mm. Camera with auto focus and digital zoom are incorporated in this upcoming Toshiba device. Toshiba K01/IS02 features an MP3 music player. You can play videos on this smart device.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microSD memory card slot and microUSB port for PC synching has been included in this stunning smartphone. PC-like internet browsing experience will be supported by Internet Explorer Mobile preloaded in the Toshiba phone. GPS support will allow users to find their destination with the help of mapping software and the navigation app of the carrier. All popular messaging formats, including text messaging, multimedia messaging, instant messaging and email will be supported by Toshiba K01/IS02.

This 3G enabled phone will run on GSM quad band network of carriers. In Japan Toshiba IS02 will appear on AU Mobile network. In US, Toshiba K01 will probably grace AT&T and/or T-Mobile.
