Tips For Your Laptop
Even little things that you do could be harming your laptop. The way you handle your laptop is very important to take care of it adequately. Here are a few tips on how to care for your laptop better.
Try to use electric power as much as possible to charge the laptop. Pick a lightweight ultra thin laptop as they heavier laptops utilize more power. Fine tune your laptop settings so that it utilizes the least amount of power. Adjust the power options so that the laptop becomes inactive after a certain interval of time. The display should go off first, with the hard drive remaining active for a bit longer. This ensures optimal utilization of power.
Purchase external batteries to extend the operating time of your laptop. Furthermore, keep the batteries clean always. The connections of the batteries should also be clean and free of grime. The battery terminals can be cleaned using a cotton swab dipped in alcohol, by rubbing it on the tip.
Take care of the power cord and power socket of your machine too. If the power socket is near the floor, make sure the cord is not haphazardly thrown on the floor. You could damage it by stepping on it or sliding your chair on it. Keep it comfortably away from your leg space. While removing the cord from the socket, hold the plug firmly with your hands and detach it. If you tug onto the cord and pull it to remove the plug from the socket, you could end up damaging either the socket or the cord.
Do not to expose your laptop to any temperature fluctuations. If this happens, then give your machine time to recover. For instance, during winters the temperature outside and indoors is completely different. If you have just brought your laptop indoors after exhibiting it to the cold temperature outside, let it warm up a little before using it again. Avoid leaving your laptop in the car. The insides of cars experience substantial temperature swings that are likely to impair your laptop.
Areas of high temperatures should also be avoided as heat can destroy the motherboard. For the same reason, use and store your laptop in a place that has adequate air circulation. Laptops are likely to get overheated in enclosed spaces.
