The New IMac Series – A Revolutionary Step in Computers
Apple has always endeavoured to take steps in the computing industry that change the way people think, and yet again, with their new IMac series, they have raised the bar and set new standards for the entire industry to look up to.
The new IMac, in addition to re-establishing Apple’s standard classy look, also brings with it a host of new features that promises to change the way computers are looked at. Apple, as a company seems to show a complete disregard for the norm, and instead paves its own way in bringing in new technology and revolutionary ideas. This ideology has been working in great favour for them.
In typical Apple style, not only does the new IMac look good, it also brings with it a powerhouse of specifications that rates it high above other standard desktop computers.
The new Apple 27-inch (core i7), comes with the quad-core power that gives it the exceptional strength that has been so difficult to harness, supplicating not only the media-users but also those who work at the creative end.
This recent launch comes with a wireless keyboard and a Magic Mouse. The mouse has a multi-touch surface and can be used for swiping as well as clicking. The back panel has a brushed aluminium look and has audio in/out jacks, four USB 2.0 ports, the Mini DisplayPort (in/out), a Gigabit Ethernet port and a FireWire 800 port.
The built-in screen has a 2560 by 14440 pixel resolution and offers great picture quality and clarity, highly recommended for those working in visual media. The side of the new IMac comes with a slot loaded DVD player as well as a card reader that only supports SD cards, one on Apple’s many quirks. Another omission made in this personal computer is of the eSATA port, something that many users wishing to transfer large amounts of data may find hard to deal with.
The IMac (core i7) comes with an internal hard disk of 1 TB, extendable up to 2TB, and 4 GB RAM, extendable up to 16GB. Suffice it to say that this computer will not have any performance issues anytime soon. Throw anything at this computer and it’ll probably sail through with flying colours. Add to that, the Energy Star 5.0 certification, EPEAT Gold certification, and recyclability and we have a revolutionary piece of technology on our hands.
