This holiday season a customized version of LG Optimus One will hit the T-Mobile stores. The upcoming Android powered smartphone, dubbed LG Optimus T, specifically targets the first-time smartphone customers.

According to Saj Sahay, director, product management, T-Mobile, USA, “With the LG Optimus T, T-Mobile is helping customers who have not yet made the transition to the world of smartphones with an easy-to-use and affordable option.”

The affordable smartphone will run on the Froyo operating system of Google. Optimus T features a large responsive 3.2 inches touch screen. An on board virtual QWERTY keyboard is available for typing texts.

The Swype technology integrated in the virtual keyboard will increase your typing speed by automatically predicting words you often use. The smartphone has a slim form, 114mm long, 59mm wide and 13mm thin. For snapping photographs and recording videos, LG Optimus T offers a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and 2x zoom.

Along with common Google services such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and Google Talk, LG has also included Google’s Voice Actions service in the Android device. With this impressive Google service, Optimus T users need not press virtual keys to call, email or text. All these tasks could be done simply by speaking commands into the phone. Optimus T users could even find directions on maps with the help of this Google service.

The smartphone users could explore the Android Market and download their favorite applications. The seven-paneled home screen could be customized with popular apps and widgets. The LG App Organizer, loaded in the smartphone, will help Optimus T users to organize the numerous apps stored in the device.

The upcoming budget smartphone features a MP3 player, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. It will offer 512 MB onboard storage. LG Optimus T supports up to 32 GB of memory expansion. This device will be shipped with a 2GB microSD memory card. The battery of the smartphone will have enough juice to support up to five hours of talk time.

This smartphone will hit the T-Mobile retail stores in titanium or burgundy finish. T-Mobile has not yet announced the price of the Android device. Nonetheless, you can expect the price to suit the budget of young first time smartphone users.
