Sony Tablet S Review
Sony tablet S is a new introduction in the Android market. Also known as Sony’s Honeycomb tablet, this tablet comes with an impressive design and unique features to give competition to the other market players. It is a complete package and includes a wall charger, Lanyard Strap and a Quick Start Guide.
Sony Tablet S Features
Design
Sony Tablet S has an impressive design with a glossy plastic cover. It is very lightweight and weighs 21.09 oz. With its TruBlack display of 9.4 inches, it gives a high resolution of 1280×800. Its color production makes things look vivid and nice.
The power button and volume buttons are placed at the right side of the tablet. These are responsive and perform fairly well. A LED is also located at the right side. Each time a notification comes, it lights up. The headset jack of 3.5mm, microSD card and microUSB port are placed at the left. MicroUSB port provides USB hosting service which allows it to accept keyboard, mouse, game pad and memory stick. You need to buy an adapter to connect them.
The charging port is placed at the lower left. There is a camera in the front. You can use it for video chat or self-portraits. The rear has a 5MP camera with auto-focus.
Interface
The tablet comprises of NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor of 1GHz and RAM of 1GB. It runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb and has a good internet speed. The tablet apps which are non-optimized function fairly well. The small icons on the top left of the homescreen give an access to email, web browser, Sony eReader app and remote control.
Organizer and Messaging
No changes have been made in core organizer apps. These are kept the same. The calendar and calculator operate the same as on Honeycomb device. The display of the tablet is small in size and the keyboard layout has also been reduced.
Camera
It comes with a 5Mp camera and an auto-focus. It captures a video of 720p. The camera captures natural colors with sharp focus. The toggle switch and the shutter key are placed on the right. The left side gives a wide range of icons to change the resolution, exposure, scene mode, focus mode and white balance. It can capture 30 frames in a second.
Multimedia
It provides an impressive interface of 3D album cover. You can place these albums anywhere on the screen. The visuals are very eye-catchy. The tablet also provides manual and preset equalizer settings. The speakers are average but the voice cracks when the volume is loud.

It provides USB hosting service with other connectivity services such as GPS and Bluetooth. Currently, the Wi-Fi version of the tablet is available.

It comprises of 5000 mAh battery which can offer a normal usage of one day. Though it provides sufficient battery life but it needs to be charged on a daily basis.
