Sony has gifted shutterbugs a double full HD 3D consumer camera, Sony HDR-TD10. It was recently unveiled in the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Sony HDR-TD10 Features

The high-end 3D photography function of the camera is handled by the built-in dual lens system. The innovated lens system comprises of dual Exom R image sensors, two Sony G lenses and double Bionz image processors. The Emor R CMOS sensor improves the low light performance of the camcorder.

Users can capture 1920 x 1080p resolution full HD 3D contents with the aid of the integrated dual recording system of the camcorder. The 3D videos captured with HDR-TD10 could be streamed via the built-in HDMI port of the camcorder to 3D capable HDTVs. Users can even stream 2D contents to larger full high-definition 2D monitors.

The 3D images shot with the camcorder could be reviewed on the touch sensitive 3.5-inch Xtra Fine LCD display of the camcorder without the aid of 3D eyewear.

Sony HDR-TD10 offers 10x optical zoom for filming distant subjects. Image blurring due to camera jerks is prevented by the Optical Steady Shot image stabilization technology with Active Mode. The intelligent auto or iAuto mode automatically selects the best settings for producing the best quality images.

The intelligent technology loaded in iAuto detects the surrounding environments and continuously adjusts the camcorder’s settings to produce clear and vibrant video footage.

Image stabilization and iAuto could be activated in both 2D and 3D modes. However, the 3D mode will suck significant amount of battery juice. HDR-TD10’s battery could support only 20 minutes of 3D recording on a single charge.

The upcoming Sony camcorder supports up to 64GB of external memory expansion. It features USB port for streaming contents to PCs and for quick charging. The Event Browse feature of the camcorder will help users to group contents according to specific categories. The Tracking Focus function of the camera ensures that the subject always remains in focus. This feature is especially beneficial while shooting sporting events and action scenes.

Sony HDR-TD10 Price and Availability

Sony HDR-TD10 will arrive in the retail stores in April. It will cost around $1500.
