Sony Alpha SLT-A35 Arrives With Powerful Sensor And Picture Effects
Sony Alpha SLT-A35 is the third fixed mirror DSLR camera in Sony’s digital camera portfolio. The successor to Alpha SLT A33 features an upgraded chip for better power usage. It flaunts a more sensitive image sensor and additional picture effects.
An Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with 16.2-megapixel effective resolution is mounted in the 4.8-inch mm (W) x 3.6-inch (H) x 3.3-inch (D) body of Sony Alpha SLT-A35 DSLR camera. The advanced image sensor is designed for capturing impressive stills and stunning HD videos even in subdued light.
The high sensitive sensor makes best use of ambient light to produce crisp and clear images. It also minimizes noise interference while shooting in poor light. The performance of the high-resolution sensor is reinforced by the Bionz processing engine.
The DSLR camera could work at very high ISO sensitivity. It supports up to ISO 12800 sensitivity. In the multi shot NR mode, which only works in JPEG format, Sony Alpha SLT-A35 could expand the ISO sensitivity up to ISO 25600. You can shoot 1080p full HD videos with Sony SLT A-35. The on screen help guide and the auto modes would enable amateur photographers to shoot like pros.
The new Sony camera features Translucent Mirror Technology. This innovative imaging tool from Sony maintains accurate auto focus even while recording full HD videos or shooting high-speed high-resolution stills. This new fixed mirror DSLR camera is ideal for capturing action scenes.
Absence of digital zoom and extended optical zoom is compensated with a more powerful Tele-zoom High Speed Shooting function that magnifies the central area of a distant framed image while shooting at a speed of seven frames per second.
The DSLR camera supports full resolution continuous shooting at 5.5 frames per second speed. The built-in tracking AF prevents the chosen subject from moving out of focus.
To add creative elements to the stills and videos, Picture Effect setting is installed in the DSLR camera. You can add toy camera, high key, retro photo, pop color, partial color posterization and high contrast monochrome effects instantly to the images. Before inserting the Picture Effect, you can preview the impact of the image effects on the camera display.
The 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD display supports high-resolution image viewing. The TruBlack technology integrated in the display retains the natural image contrast, including the dark shadows and rich blacks of the framed scenes, even while viewing the camera screen in bright sunlight. The electronic viewfinder displays detailed images, covering 100 percent field. There are several advantages of installing an electronic viewfinder in a DSLR camera.
Unlike the optical viewfinder, an electronic viewfinder does not require movable lens for focusing the light on the viewfinder. By utilizing fixed semi transparent mirror it offers high contrast live preview of images.
Sony SLT-A35 offers a better battery life. The redesigned chip consumes almost 30 percent less power than the earlier fixed mirror DSLR cameras. The fully charged battery has enough power for shooting 440 stills. It even offers better thermal performance, which increases the duration of video shooting without worrying about overheating the camera.
The new Sony camera will hit the stores in August with a price tag of $700.
