Samsung Unveils Wave 575 With Bada OS
There is good news for cell phone buffs that are smitten by the Bada operating system. After introducing the Bada mobile platform in December last year, Samsung has already launched five smartphones running on its new operating system.
Recently, the sixth Bada-based smartphone, named Samsung Wave 575, (GT-S5750) has been launched by Samsung. Samsung has also re-launched Samsung Wave 525 (GT-S5250) and Samsung Wave 533 (GT-S5330), which are currently available in select markets.
In a press release, J K Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics said, “The Samsung Wave family will give users an optimized smartphone experience that suits their lifestyle. I’m proud of the Samsung Wave family as it continues to deliver rich, connected and innovative smartphone experiences for everyone.”
According to Shin, the Samsung Wave smartphones aim to democratize the smartphone market. All the three new Samsung Wave smartphones could be customized and optimized to suit the personal lifestyle of the users. Samsung Wave 575 handsets will be available in white, black and pink colors.
The stylish lightweight device boasts an 11.9mm slim body. This full touchscreen device carries a 3.2 inches TFT LCD display. The Bada powered smartphone is equipped with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
This Samsung smartphone features a 3.2megapixel camera. Wave 525 supports robust download speed through 3G HSDPA connectivity. Users of the Samsung Wave smartphone could download apps from Samsung Apps, the online application store of the Korean company.
The Samsung application store is packed with social networking apps, games, news apps and several other useful apps, which have been specifically developed for Samsung phones.
With a single touch of a finger, Samsung Wave 575 users could access the Samsung applications store directly from the home screen of the smartphone. This Samsung touchscreen device offers 100MB internal memory, which might not be adequate for packing enough apps, files and documents in the device.
Fortunately, Samsung Wave 525 allows memory expansion up to 16GB with microSD memory card. Samsung has brought all the messaging tools including emails, SMS, SNS and IM in a single window. In mid-November, Samsung Wave 575 will arrive in Sweden. Later this smartphone will be available in Europe and Asia.
