Samsung Galaxy Z Android Mobile Phone Review

Samsung gradually seems to be taking over the mobile phones market after the big victory of its Galaxy S series. It is an impressive thing considering the fact that iPhones and Blackberry are a predominant factor and promise the best deals to customers. Now, what does Samsung Galaxy Z have for the customers?

Samsung Galaxy Z more Affordable than Galaxy S series

Some reviews call the new Galaxy Z series, the cheaper counterpart of the Galaxy S2 series released by Samsung. Strangely enough, some Swedish firm called Three has come up with this new Z series. Samsung has not exactly released it themselves.

The latest Samsung Galaxy Z has combined the Samsung Galaxy SL and S2 versions with a Tegra 2 chipset and two 1GHz Cortex A9 processors. The Z version of Galaxy series has a bigger LCD screen of 4.2 inches and comes with a five mega-pixel camera. The 1650mAh battery has a considerably long life with up to nine hours of talk time. Since the Samsung Galaxy Z series runs on Gingerbread 2.3 Android apps, you will not need any updates immediately.

Samsung Galaxy Z Price

Well, without a SIM, this phone may seem on the expensive side with the price tag of $630. However, with a contract, it looks cheaper; as it’s per month charges are nearly $30 and the phone is free. This seems to be in line with the other smart phones in the market with a contract period.

Samsung Galaxy Z features

We already looked at the processors, camera and screen size. The other specifications of Samsung Galaxy Z are-

720p video recording while Galaxy S2 has a 4.3 inch screen, eight mega-pixel camera and 1080p video. Samsung Galaxy Z has 8GB storage memory and can expand to 32GB. Galaxy S2 has 16GB memory and can expand to 32GB. Galaxy Z is heavier than the S2 series and weighs around 135 grams.

Samsung galaxy Z also allows multiple numbers storage per contact, a picture identification and ringtone identification; supports MS Office 2007, 2003, PDF and other applications. There is calculator, world clock, countdown timer, stopwatch for the fitness activities. Users can check their office mails using the Samsung Galaxy Z phone. It supports Microsoft Exchange server, SMTP, IMAP and POP3.

Of course, like other smart phones, there is Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI, compass and other sensors. There is a stand-by time of 620 hours of the battery and a super clear LCD screen, which is scratch-resistant. It is a multi-touch touch screen phone.

This phone is presently unavailable in UK but that does not mean that the company will never launch it in UK. It just might take a little longer to launch it globally. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is a close competitor for the existing iPhone and the next generation of iPhone too. However, the price tag is too expensive at $799 with no contract and unlocked phone.

On the other hand, a SIM free Samsung Galaxy Z seems more affordable at $630. It still promises to be a faster Android gadget and has all features equal to the best smart phones in the market. There is still some hope for a lower price variant or to go for the contract based Galaxy Z that might cost around $30 per month. So, go ahead, check out the latest Samsung Galaxy Z in the store, and give your feedback.

Presently, the new Z series of Samsung is available in on the Swedish firm Three and restricted to Sweden market only. Samsung may not hold up on its sales for too long and there seems to be a huge potential for this device to be popular.
