Samsung Conquer 4G Mobile Review
The consumers always wait for an advanced technology and developed features in the devices. HTC EVO 4G was introduced in 2010 as the first 4G smartphone with 4.3” screen. This year has seen the release of Samsung Conquer 4G which is packed with such advanced features. With the incorporation of 4G, its specifications remind you of EVO 4G. Though its display and camera are not very impressive but the 1GB memory and the snapdragon processor compensate this drawback. Conquer 4G comes along with a microSD card and a microUSB cable.
Design of Samsung Conquer 4G
Conquer 4G is very budget friendly. The design of the smartphone is very impressive and each element has been specifically worked upon. Its battery door gives an amazing tactile feel which is soft to touch. The metal frame gels very well with the black structure.
The ports and the side buttons are located at the right place and can be searched easily by a simple touch. The hardware buttons are made of plastic and look like brushed aluminum in black. The appearance of the buttons gels very well with the camera at its back. Overall, the phone gives a very sophisticated look.
The smartphone provides 16M colors with a TFT display of 3.5inches. It has a low resolution with a pixel count of 320×480. Its display resembles with Samsung Transform. Apart from the pixel count, the display quality is quite decent with adequate brightness and it works pretty well in direct light.
Conquer 4G is very comfortable in the hand. Its small size makes it very handy. The soft touch, textured back provides an adequate grip over the phone. Its small screen makes the one-handed operation possible over the phone.
Interface of Samsung Conquer 4G
Conquer 4G runs Android. It is SprintID so you do not need to install any ID to start working on the phone. There is a preloaded software which is already installed but is minimal. This smartphone offers you a Mobile Wallet & ID, Sprint Zone, My Files, Qik, Adobe Flash and ThinkFree Office. As Conquer 4G comprises of lot of free memory, no valuable space is taken by these apps. Another application, Swype, is already loaded to give you typing pleasure.
You can download the new and recent ID packs at your discretion. You can install wallpapers, ringtones and a series of apps. ID packs give a nice selection of apps and you do not have to search through more than 200K apps from the market. There are around two dozen ID packs available.
With a powerful 1GHz processor and a RAM of 1GB, Conquer 4G gives a very smooth experience. It is also equipped with plenty of free memory and horsepower which makes the installation of the apps quite safe.
Data & Connectivity
Conquer 4G uses WiMAX network of Sprint. You can compare its connectivity speed with EVO 3D and Photon 4G in 4G sphere. It also offers Wi-Fi b/g/n & 3G data on EV-DO network and comprises of Bluetooth 3.0.
The stock browser on Android performs fairly well. You can either pinch or double tap to zoom which is very smooth. The flash content can be played with no complications and the complex pages can be loaded on 3G very quickly. Stock browser works pretty well and reduces the chance to consider the third party ones.
Camera
The camera of Conquer 4G is not very impressive. It is only 3.2 MP with a pixel count of 2048×1536 but can capture decent snapshots. This is possible only in good lighting conditions. The images come out very well in bright light but the camera cannot capture the colors well in dark light. You can do video chat with the camera located on its front side. Conquer 4G runs Android but is not supported by Google Talk.
You can record the video at VGA resolution. And the camera captures the video pretty well.
Multimedia
Conquer 4G depends upon the Android video and music players. You can use Cloud to stream your collection of music. You can even use the memory card of 32GB for this purpose. DivX videos cannot be played on this smartphone but it supports H.264, MPEG-4 files and XviD.
