Samsung Admire SCH-r720 comprises of all those features you require in a basic smartphone. This phone does not include many advanced features but still it serves the basic purpose. The design is pretty simple. Its screen is quite dynamic and bright. Though the quality of the call keeps on varying but this handset comes with many decent features.

The design of  Admire SCH-r720 is similar to a smartphone’s design. The edges are round and not rectangular as that of the other Android phones. It is very comfortable in your hand. It is 4.6inches in length, 2.4inches in width and 0.5 inch in thickness and weighs 117 grams. It does not feel very bulky because of the plastic skin. The handset comes in two colors- red and gray.

The handset has a dynamic HVGA screen with a size of 3.5inches. The resolution is ok and provides bright and clear visuals. You can customize the home screen in the Android way through folders, shortcut icons and widgets. The search bar of Google is also available in this handset. The only drawback this handset is that it does not give any option to shift between various features like wi-fi and bluetooth.

Keyboard of Samsung Admire SCH-r720

You can use Swype to get a virtual keyboard but you can make use of other options too. The design of the keyboard is similar to that of other Android handsets. The keys are placed in four rows. Each letter accompanies a number or punctuation mark in the same space. There is another keyboard for numbers and symbols. Its dial pad has a basic design but gives an appropriate touch interface.

You can find back, menu and home buttons under the screen. The keys of Samsung Admire SCH-r720 are very user-friendly. You can check out the microSD card slot and the volume rocker at the left. The power control and camera shutter is placed at the right. This handset comes with a headphones jack of 3.5mm but without a wired headset. The camera lens and the tiny speaker are on its rear side.

Depending on the space in its memory, this handset can record any number of entries. With a space of 196 MB, you can store as many contacts as you want.  You can also record various phone numbers, company names, email ids, notes, URLs etc in each contact.

Samsung Admire SCH-r720  has a basic music player and no advanced features are added to it. There is a 2GB card. The microSD card slot can accommodate upto 32GB cards. The music quality is moderate and the video quality is also not impressive.

The 3.2MP camera captures photos in specific resolutions ranging from VGA quality to 3.2mp. The handset offers exclusive settings like spot metering, 4x zoom, 5 color effects, 3 quality modes, 6 scene settings etc. Camcorder mode is also available in the handset.

The quality of the call is not very impressive. At times, the level of the volume gets little low. The speaker phone also doesn’t work well. The audio quality keeps on fluctuating.

The handset comprises of  800MHz processor. There is a noticaeble difference between the speed of Samsung Admire SCH-r720 and the smartphone but it works well for its targeted auidence.
