Panasonic To Launch Lumix DMC-FZ150 24x Superzoom Digicam
Taking photography to the next level, Panasonic has recently unveiled the Lumix DMC-FZ150 with the power of 24x ‘Superzoom’ and 3D shooting. The DMC-FZ150, an addition to the Lumix FZ series, has been designed to overcome the shortcomings of the not-so-popular Lumix DMC-FZ100 model released previously.
Panasonic claims that DMC-FZ150 sports 12MP sensor which is of lower resolution than the 14MP chip of FZ100 but will definitely outperform the latter with its adherence to details and clarity. Another highlight of DMC-FZ150 is the Nano Surface coating that is intended to curb internal reflections. DMC-FZ150 also records high definition 1080p movies in the latest AVCHD progressive format.
Features Of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 Digital Camera
Lumix DMC-FZ150 sports an ultra wide angle Leica lens i.e. Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT. The 24x optical zoom (25–600mm) adds an extra touch to the videos and still images. Being the high-end Lumix model, the DMC-FZ150 sports 12.1MP sensor backed up by Venus engine resulting in superior and faster image recording. The camera records HD videos in 1920×1080 60p resolution and AVCHD Progressive formats. The best thing about the camera is that one can record videos and capture still images simultaneously. 24x Superzoom is also available for recording videos. Stereo zoom feature, Wind Cut function and Dolby Digital Stereo ensure superior quality sound for the videos recorded.
Modes and Controls
With Light Speed Auto Focus feature, DMC-FZ150 never lets you miss any moment. Manual controls are so designed that they suit the needs of amateurs. With options such as Photo Style as well as Creative Control, shooting images and recording videos become even more fun. The Power OIS sports an all new Active mode so that the video is stable even when you record it while on the move.
Intelligent Auto popularly known as iA mode provides the necessary kick to shooting situations so that the images appear their best. Zoom ratio can be extended by around 1.3 times via the Intelligent Zoom function without deteriorating the image quality. The 24x superzoom feature also widens the view angle by almost 196% to make it ideal for dynamic landscapes as well as group portraits.

Along with Power OIS, the DMC-FZ150 sports essential features such as Face Detection, Intelligent D-Range Control and Scene Selector that simplify capturing great shots. Intelligent Scene Selector decides on its own which mode will be the best for a particular image and chooses between Normal, Macro, Low Light, Portrait and Scenery modes. On the other hand, the D-Range Control makes the images more life-like by averting blocked shadows and hence optimizes each image portion to be highlighted. The overall effect is an image with unaltered details and perfect gradation.
High sensibility 12.1MP MOS sensor powered by Venus Engine ensures incredible image processing. This powerful combination brings about substantial improvement of S/N ratio up to 4.7dB. Noise reduction technique works efficiently to suppress noise in dark rooms thereby resulting in clearer images.
Venus Engine
The Venus Engine accounts for recording consecutive shots at an incredible speed at 12fps and at 5.5fps when AF is not on. DMC-FZ150 can also record videos in QVGA resolution at 220fps. Thanks to the Venus Engine that DMC-FZ150 takes lesser response time (0.1 seconds) and makes AF tracking a speedy affair.
3D Shooting
DMC-FZ150 captures 20 shots consecutively and selects two among them to best suit the right as well as the left eye. Then the camera synthesizes 3D composite with those two images. One can view 3D images on 3D HDTV and on MPO device.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 Digital Camera Availability and Price
