After receiving a huge response for its FT2 digital camera, Panasonic has now decided to launch yet another model, called (a.k.a. TS10 in the US market).
The all-new ultra-rugged camera is waterproof, shock-proof, dustproof and freeze-proof, and can survive under 10 feet of water, stand a drop from 5 feet above the ground and can stand a temperature of 14˚F.
So, it seems the camera is designed especially for the rugged people to accompany them in extreme climate and adventure trips.
Similar to its predecessor FT2, the Panasonic FT10 features amazing still photography as well as video recording capabilities. It also comes with a 4x zoom lens, Venus EngineIV and 14.1-mp sensor that together render optimum quality images and videos with the help of the high-end signal processing technology.
The Panasonic FT10 features a 230,000-dot Intelligent LCD in 2.7 inches that offers comfortable viewing while monitoring shots and playing the results back simultaneously. The Intelligent LCD detects light conditions for shooting and enhances LCD backlighting up to 40 pct whenever you are shooting under bright sunlight. If you’re shooting under inadequate lighting conditions, the Intelligent LCD adjusts frame rate.
The Intelligent Auto mode, proprietary to Panasonic, makes it easy to capture beautiful images via an entire suit of functions that assist shooting. There is a dedicated button on the camera top that lets you engage the Intelligent Auto setting easily.
Blurs arising out of hand-shakes are reduced by MEGA OIS, whereas Intelligent ISO control takes care of the blur effects arising out of the subject movement. The Intelligent ISO optimizes the shutter speed and ISO sensitivity setting to reduce blurs and produces sharper & clearer images.
The FT10 can also capture 720p HD movies, whereas Intelligent Scene Selector selects a scene mode out of the six available i.e. Macro mode, Portrait mode, Scenery mode, Night Scenery mode, Night Portrait mode and Sunset mode. The fast Auto Focus system keeps the camera focus on subject while in recording mode.
The Panasonic FT10 is slated to hit the selves in September at a price of $249.95. Users can get the camera in a choice of vibrant colors such as Blue, Red, Silver and Black.
