Orange Bringing Gigabyte Boston Smartphone For 1 Euro

It is hard to believe that you can get a smartphone for 1 euro (about $1.36). However, if you trust the amateur cyber world sleuths engaged in unearthing the secret marketing strategies of organizations, people living in countries served by Orange could actually buy a Gigabyte Android smartphone only by spending such an unusually low amount. Of course, Orange subscribers must be prepared to dole out some extra bucks for availing the carrier’s contract for running the smartphone.

The much talked about smartphone carrying this unusual low price tag is a new creation of Gigabyte, named Boston. Gigabyte always loves to name its phones after major cities of the world. After gifting the world phones such as Rome, Miami, Vegas and New York, Gigabyte has now introduced cell phone buffs to Boston.

Gigabyte Boston features
Last month a Gigabyte smartphone, named Gigabyte GSmart G1305 Codfish popped up in Russia and Ukraine. Gigabyte Boston is touted to be the Orange version of GSmart Codfish. The smartphone will run on the Android 1.6 operating system. We hope that Gigabyte would consider upgrading future Boston models to include the latest version of the Android operating system. You can’t expect a super cheap smartphone to carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Nonetheless, Gigabyte Boston users should not complain about a phone equipped with 600MHz Qualcomm chipset. The 256 MB RAM will enable Boston users to run multiple apps simultaneously on the Boston handset without slowing down its speed.

The 3.2 inches display of 480 x 320 pixel resolution of the Gigabyte Android phone is comparable to the standard displays of smartphones. Gigabyte has managed to integrate a 5 megapixel camera, which Boston users could use for snapping stills and recording videos. The built-in Bluetooth support will enable Boston users to connect their Android phone handsets to Bluetooth headsets. Gigabyte Boston even carries a 3.5mm audio jack. You can carry the smart device to Wi-Fi zones for browsing the internet. The integrated GPS antenna will guide you to your destinations. Gigabyte Boston will support external memory expansion.

The white colored Gigabyte Boston phones will be up for grabs from this month in selected countries of Europe including UK, Poland, Spain and Romania.
