Nokia Play 360° Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review
The desire to listen to music on external speakers from a phone is often suppressed by the wearisome process involved. But it seems all our woes have been heard by Nokia as they have come up with the Nokia Play 360° speaker at Nokia Connection 2011.
The newNokia Play 360 speaker is a marvel on its own. Besides rendering 360-degree surround sound, the speaker enchants the user with its universal compatibility and wireless connection.
The Nokia 360° is efficient in delivering clear and crisp sound. So, the speaker is equally magnificent in high treble sounds and rich bass sounds. Another characteristic that makes the Nokia 360° speaker special is that it can be connected to any device (supporting Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR) via Bluetooth.
Users can also plug it in to a 3.5mm audio jack. NFC-supported phones (such as Nokia C7) can be paired with the Nokia 360° speaker through a simple tap. Moreover, the speaker gets going for long – thanks to the rechargeable battery that lasts long enough to relieve you from the pain of carrying charging cables every time. The Bluetooth stereo support on Nokia 360° speaker is an added advantage.
Some of the striking features of this amazing speaker include a bass reflex chamber that delivers deeper and richer bass tones. The Nokia Play 360° speaker allows the users to enjoy their favorite tracks together with their friends. On connecting the Nokia 360° speaker to another Nokia Play 360°, the performance of the speaker doubles and the users get high quality unmatched stereo sound. The fact that there is no end to the list of the devices the speaker is compatible with is sure to spice up its popularity.
The Nokia 360° speaker does not require any external power source for recharging. This makes the speaker the perfect companion in your holidays. If the user’s phone is NFC-enabled then a simple tap on the phone’s speaker streams music. Besides the speaker can be paired with another Nokia Play 360° wirelessly and portable stereo sound can be enjoyed.
The Nokia Play 360° speaker is cased in premium aluminum that renders it a classic look. The curved design of the speaker further adds to the modern look of the speaker. Its compact dimension (110x110x124mm) and light weight nature (514g) enable the user to carry it along wherever and whenever. Another reason why this speaker is travel-friendly is its rechargeable BL-5C 1020 mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery that lasts really long (20 hours) and can be replaced easily. The power saving feature on the Nokia 360° speaker shuts it down automatically when it is lying idle for an hour. The battery requires a maximum of 3 hours to get fully charged and to last long thereafter.
The Nokia 360° speaker features three operating keys – the Bluetooth key, the On/Off key and LED indicator. Apart from the standard 3.5mm audio connector, the speaker sports microUSB charging connector. The maximum operating range is 10m to 100m in case of Bluetooth use and 15mm in case of pairing with NFC-enabled phone. However, there is a precondition to the speaker’s Bluetooth pairing – it is possible in only open areas. No such pre-condition exists for NFC use.
The speaker supports two Bluetooth profiles i.e. A2DP 1.2 and A/V Remote Control Profile v1.0.
With the latest launch of Nokia N9, the Nokia Play 360 speaker is going to be the talk of the town.
