Nokia Brings X2-01 Affordable Social Network Centric Feature Phone
Nokia X2-01 might offer some tough competition to feature phones that primarily target the social networking crazy generation. The young cell phone users hooked to the social networking sites are expected to be the primary consumers of the new Nokia device.
To attract consumers searching for an affordable feature phone packed with prominent mobile phone functionality, Nokia has given a reasonable price tag to the new cell phone.
Nokia X2-01 is expected to hit the stores from this quarter, for 80 euros or $108 before taxes and subsidies.
The new Nokia handset boasts a candy bar form with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a full QWERTY keyboard. It is quite natural for a social networking centric phone to feature a full QWERTY keyboard for typing texts and messages.
Through the Communities application, preloaded on the Nokia X2-01 handset, users can access Facebook. Users can view the updates directly on the home screen. In addition, users can post their own updates and pictures from the home screen of their Nokia phone.
To entertain users, Nokia has included a media player and FM radio in the device. The new member of Nokia’s X-series family supports Ovi Music service in selected markets. Users could access unlimited songs and music tracks from the huge music library of Nokia.
However, Nokia X2-01 users will be disappointed with the camera of the device. The VGA camera integrated in the new Nokia phone will offer limited functionality.
Nokia X2-01 supports web browsing. It is equipped with Bluetooth 2.1 technology. A 3.5mm headset jack is present on the device. Nokia has added modest storage space to the feature phone. However, the built-in microSD memory card slot will assist up to 8GB of memory expansion.
This Nokia feature phone will run on the quad band GSM network. This simple phone lacks high-end connectivity features such as 3G and Wi-Fi. It even lacks GPS.
Nokia X2-01 handsets will be available in red, blue, purple, brown and gray colors. This Nokia feature phone supports text and multimedia messages and emails. The battery of the device could power 4.50 hours of talk time and up to 480 hours of standby time.
