Sony has introduced a new series of A-mount lenses in addition to the already available 30, which would be a delight to the eyes of seasoned photographers and amateurs.

The Distagon F2 ZA SSM (SAL24F20Z) with focal length of 24-mm features the Distagon design by Carl Zeiss.

This is in line of the already present Sonnar and Planar models by Sony that were developed in association with Carl Zeiss. Experienced photographers will be highly benefited with this lens thanks to the wide-angle lens with large aperture and real distinction.

This lens is awfully compatible with cameras that have 35-mm sensors. This lens features the highly-praised lens configuration by Carl Zeiss called retro-focus. This configuration is used in wide-angle lenses. The built-in SSM results in fast responding focus & smooth operation.

The focal range extends from 0.19-mm to infinity. The circular aperture with 9 blades along with F2 maximum aperture results in life-like effects. The lens has upto 0.29 magnification. It has image stabilization capabilities, and is weighed just 555g.

Sony Distagon T F1.8 SAM (SAL35F18) brags of a focal length of 35mm and falls under the ‘Easy Choice’ range. The lenses in this range are mainly crafted for the photographers who like to keep it compact and who want value for their money.

Weighting 170g, this lens is attuned with 50mm APS-C sensor and can effectively handle portraits and snapshots in an extensive shooting conditions range. It also touts to provide maximum aperture of F1.8 which is highly beneficial for handheld shooting even under low-light conditions.

The minimum focus of 0.23-m makes the lens ideal for close-ups. The lens also has Smooth Autofocus Motor for better picture quality. Another lens in the same range is F2.8 SAM (SAL85F20Z), which boasts of having focal length of 85mm – a prerequisite for portraiture. Weighing 175g, this lens is unbelievably compact.

The F2.8 SAM (SAL85F20Z) lens is the 1st among the lenses in the ‘Easy Choice’ range to feature a full frame. It works equivalent to a telephoto lens of 127.5mm on a camera with APS-C sensor.

Looking a lot like the Sonnar lens in its design, this lens is entirely sharp – from the centre to the edges. The maximum aperture of F2.8 results in to smooth defocusing, while smooth autofocus is ensured by SAM. The minimum focus of 0.6m makes the lens ideal for close-ups.
