Motorola Launches Android Powered Business Phone Droid Pro

Motorola hopes to give BlackBerry smartphones tough competition with its first Android powered business phone Droid Pro.

The Motorola business phone will be shipped with a Verizon contract from early November. According to Sanjay Jha, the co-CEO of Motorola, “BlackBerry users are eager to switch to a device that offers more functionlity.” If you are one of those Blackberry users who believe that their business phone lacks several important features, then Motorola Droid Pro might be your ideal communication device.

Motorola Droid Pro is a true world phone. It supports wireless voice service and data coverage in over 200 countries. Droi Pro offers prominent corporate communication tools such as full push corporate email. To protect the corporate mails and messages, Motorola has equipped the smartphone with corporate level security.

Droid Pro supports Exchange email and Gmail. Quickoffice Mobile Suite is preloaded in the business phone handset. Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets could be stored in the Droid Pro handset.

Droid Pro offers up to 2 GB of onboard storage space. It also supports memory expansion via microSD memory card. Prominent business communication tools such as unified calendar, corporate directory look-up and sync with Google Calendar are integrated in the Android business phone handset.

The stunning Motorola device will run on the latest Android operating system. The robust functionality of the device will be powered by a 1 GHz processor. Droid Pro flaunts a 3.1-inch touch sensitive display. A full QWERTY keyboard is present on the candy bar body of the device. Droid Pro features up to seven home screens.

The Android-based business phone supports PC-like browsing experience. Web browsing is further enhanced with the help of Adobe Flash Player 10.1. The 5-megapixel camera of the phone, equipped with dual LED flash and auto focus could record DVD quality videos. The 3G-enabled business phone could be used in the Wi-Fi hotspots including the 3G Mobile Hotspots of Verizon Wireless.

Other prominent features of Motorola Droid Pro include Android media player, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, micro USB, and GPS with aGPS and sGPS support. Users can access the Android Market which is currently packed with over 80,000 applications.
