Motorola Backflip
The cell phone market is one which is constantly bringing out something new every now and then, and this holds true especially in the cases of big companies such as Motorola. Just recently, Motorola has come up with Motorola Backflip, the company’s first Google Android device. The design of the phone has managed to get most brownie points, even as reviews suggest that the phone’s performance turns to be a little sluggish overall.
At the first look, the Backflip actually resembles another Motorola phone – the Motorola Cliq. However, the Backflip is a flip phone instead of slider one, and this is what makes it even more interesting. So the keyboard when is closed is actually at the back of the phone, but when you flip it open, it comes and settles down right below the display.
The software of the phone is similar to that of Motorola Cliq and Motorola Devour, which helps in merging the contact information from multiple e-mail accounts and social networking sites such as Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Twitter etc. This is of course a great thing considering how growing the online platform has become today and how addicted and involved people are to such things. There is a 5 mega pixel camera with a LED flash in this phone, though the picture quality is not very impressive, and is more of washed out and hazy.
Issues which will possibly bother the users or will stop them from buying this phone include the keyboard at the back, which means that due to the exposure, the durability is a little questionable and risky. At the same time the screen size seems just a little too small. Testers have also reported that to a certain extent the phone reboots itself or gives slow and sluggish performance when an application is being opened.
Overall, if you are looking for an upgrade in terms of a feature phone, then maybe you could go in for this one and enjoy the wide range of possibilities that the phone has to offer to its users. However, if speed and performance are your main criteria for the purchase of a phone, then this might turn out to be somewhat of a disappointment to you.
