After a long wait, Pentax has marked its introduction into the DSLR camera world with the launch of Pentax 645D, its first medium format DSLR. Pentax 645D is a 40MP camera with 44x33 mm CCD sensor. The CCD sensor of this camera is manufactured by Kodak.

The Pentax 645D is capable of operating up to a temperature of -10 C as the body of the camera is made of magnesium alloy. The camera comes with a chassis made of diecast aluminum.

Feature wise, this camera is loaded with many add on features which are not commonly seen in medium DSLR cameras. As Pentax 645D is aimed at capturing the hearts and market of DSLR cameras, the company has made sure that the product is priced competitively.
