Is Blackberry Planning an 8.9-inch Tablet?
Technological options are changing at a very rapid speed now-a-days, it was just previous year when the netbooks, being at their peak, were increasingly demanded, and then out of the blue came in view the Tablets, the (touchscreen devices), which, with their integrated became talk of the town especially right after Apple iPad. Now, the rumor has it that RIM would soon be hitting the selves with its brand-new tablet.
Reportedly, the leading giant of the mobile-world is said to have ordered an 8.9-in tablet from Hon Hai Precision Industries Ltd, which is slated to be rolled out in early Q4 or late Q3 of 2010.
It seems to be quite strange especially after what IM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis revealed to Walt Mossberg. He was quoted to have said that I do not find any benefit of a tablet over a notebook. Numerous technologies fall in the middle. However, Blackberry just obtained QNX, an expert in entrenched software that may ignite a little doubt to the reality of this rumor.
Hon Hai Precision is famous to manufacture the Kindle for Amazon. The new upcoming Blackberry Tablet is reported to have the capacity of synchronizing data with the handset with the help of 3.5G or Wi-Fi. Loads of content is expected to be backed with ads. But as of now, there is no word as to the pricing and volume expectation.
Blackberry is highly-acclaimed due to its amazing messaging service, but on multimedia front, it hasn’t succeeded to such an extent. Though quite a good move to come up with a tablet of 8.9-inch, do we really need such a larger display just to view our mails on page.
I don’t think so, that’s why RIM will need to keep its multimedia attribute direct if it has a desire to vie against iPads and HP Slates with its future Tablet. Thus, they, in case of a 9in touchscreen, need to do much better. Well, all will be made clear when the tablet will be rolled out in the market. For the time being, we cannot do but waiting for its launch. So keep waiting!
