Apple unveiled  iPhone 4 at the recently held WWDC in San Francisco. Here is a look at some of the features of the phone.

FaceTime
This is a video calling feature that allows users to view their faces on video while on call. This feature is easy to use.

This feature is enabled by the presence of two cameras – one in front above the display and the other at the back of the iphone. In order to start a FaceTime session, locate the person’s name in the contact list. Now select the name and simply tap on the FaceTime button. If the person accepts your invitation, then a video session is started between both the parties. This works in both portrait and landscape modes.

Retina Display
The new iPhone 4 has a greater resolution of  960x640 at 326 pixels per inch, when compared to previous models. This gives this 3.5 inch screen amazing clarity. Use of special technology like IPS (in plane switching) and special chemically strengthened scratch resistant glass provide optimal viewing capacities. A higher contrast ratio also provides for viewing well defined pictures.

Multitasking
The new iPhone supports switching between applications. This situation can occur when the current task takes some time to run. It can  run in the background instead and the user can focus on other tasks. A practical example would be switching to a mail application, while continuing a conversation with a person.
5 Megapixel camera

Taking self portraits and photos in poor lighting conditions is now made easier  in iPhone 4 with the presence of backlighting LEDs and automatic flash LEDs. The camera in front makes it easier to take self pictures. Its 5x digital zoom feature allows one to capture images in great detail.

Comparison with other phones:
iPhone 4 is priced at 199$, which is comparable to other smartphones. It is thinner than most other phones and its retina display offers a higher resolution than most other phones like the HTC Evo 4G. It however does not have a HDMI output, unlike HTC Evo 4G. It also does not support microSD card slots. It comes with an internal memory storage of 16GB and 32GB.
