HTC Introduces Android Smartphones Desire HD and Desire Z
HTC, the mobile phone maker credited for making the world’s first Android phones, has recently launched two new Android devices, dubbed HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z. Both the smartphones will run on the latest Android 2.2 platform.
The touch screen of both the devices will be powered by HTC’s Sense user interface.
HTC Desire HD
The Android Froyo driven smartphone from HTC supports multitasking with unusual ease with the help of the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The 12mm thin smartphone is wrapped in a solid aluminum casing.
The 4.3-inch AMOLED touch sensitive display of HTC Desire HD has been designed to display high-resolution images in their true colors. The seven-paneled home screen could be personalized to feature the favorite apps and widgets of the user. The HTC Fast Boot technology integrated in the device will enable the phone to power-up within 10 seconds, drastically reducing the time taken to make calls or check emails.
An 8-megapixel camera featuring dual LED flash, auto focus, digital zoom, geo tagging and face detection has been added to the device. As the name suggests, HTC Desire HD’s camera could shoot 720p HD videos.
To enhance the audio quality of the smartphone, HTC has integrated Dolby Mobile in the device. The Android Market could be accessed with Desire HD. Bibliophiles would admire the online e-reader app, which is connected to an e-book store.
HTC Desire Z
The Android 2.2-powered HTC Desire Z is equipped with 800 MGHz Qualcomm processor. The unique pop-hinge design of the phone hides the full QWERTY keyboard when the handset is closed. HTC Desire Z flaunts a 3.7-inch high-resolution AMOLED display with seven home screen panels, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p high-definition video recorder, online e-reader connected to an e-book store and Dolby Mobile.
The built-in HTC Boot speeds up the power-up sequence of HTC Desire Z. The HTC Location app loaded in the GPS-enabled device will enable users to view on-demand maps from any location without paying roaming charges.
The upcoming HTC phone supports 3G and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, music player, stereo FM radio and web browser are present on the HTC Desire Z handset.
Both the HTC phones will be shipped in the fourth quarter of this year.
