How To Clean Your Computer Keyboard
Computer keyboards get dirty very quickly due to constant exposure to dirt and dust. Cleaning such keyboards is not easy because you just cannot use any detergent and solution to clean the keys since solution will seep in and cause damage to the keyboard. You need to know the right way to keep the keyboard clean. To clean your computer keyboard, you will need a soft cloth, a dry cloth which is similar to a duster, cotton buds, can of compressed air or a vacuum cleaner and a cleaning fluid.
If you wish to clean your PC keyboard effectively, start by shutting down your PC and remove the main plug. You should also unplug your keyboard (don’t forget to check which socket you are removing).
You now need to hold it upside down so that any debris present can be removed. You can press the keys so that the dust is easily removed. Now, you will need a can of compressed air which will help to blow away the debris which might have gathered just under the keys. If this does not solve your problem, you can use the hose of your vacuum to clean the keys.
Once you have cleaned the side portion of the keys, you have to take your lint free cloth and then dampen it with the help of cleaning fluid. You should be careful not to spray the fluid direct on the keyboard as this will damage the keyboard permanently. After you have done this, you need to clean the surface of the keyboard so that any dampness or dirt can be cleaned.
Those who look for more elaborate methods of cleaning or would like to clean the keyboard more intricately, will have to remove the keys, but this is a work of patience. You have to keep in mind the position of the keys, so that you do not have any kind of trouble in putting them back. You can remove the keys of your keyboard with the help of a screwdriver, place it just under the key and gently lift the key top off.
