Fujifilm has announced the launch of a new camera, which will cater to the requirements of those enthusiastic photographers who are not ready to dig very deep into their pockets, but want to buy the top-level DSLRs.

Known as Fujifilm FinePix S2800HD; the all-new camera is an entry-level DSLR with HD recording capability.

The main feature of this camera is its 14.1mp resolution with a 1/2.3 CCD (charge couple device) which is unheard of in its class. Added to this is a large 3-inch high-contrast LCD that’s further augmented by an electronic view finder. This abets the photography buffs to be used to LCD viewing and appeals the old generation of photographers who find a view finder more familiar to work with.

Fujifilm has brought in a wide-angle 18x optical zoom lens with 28mm focal length (wide-angle) to 504mm (telephoto). The 28mm focal length will help budding photographers capture portraits while the 504mm tele zoom makes sure that distant objects and panorama shots are easily taken.

This camera also boasts of the feature of Instant Zoom which abets the users to keep their subjects in a frame at long distances by making a wide-viewing area around the frame & by cropping the subject just once the photo has been clicked. This feature is intended for the enthusiastic photographers who have moved from point-and-shot cameras to DSLRs specifically to satisfy their resolution and zooming needs.

Image stabilization at telephoto range is an issue with most cameras of this category. For solving this problem, Fujifilm has brought a mechanically stabilized sensor for the CCD, which reduces shakes and blurs to a minimum. In addition, the camera is smartly featured Tracking Auto Focus, which tracks a moving subject automatically and makes the camera ready for a still picture shot and switches on the Automatic Scene Recognition along with the Auto Picture Rotation.

Apart from all that, the Fujifilm FinePix S2800HD Digicam can also capture video in HD quality i.e. 720p HD, whereas connectivity is provided via a mini-HDMI port, which can hook up to a Home theatre system, LCD panel etc.

Slated to hit the selves in early September 2010, the FinePix S2800HD will be priced $ 259.95.
