Casio has announced the new addition to its Exilim series of digicams – Exilim EX-S200. Exilim EX-S200 features a slim profile and elegant look with high-end features. There is SR Zoom in Exilim EX-S200 whereby the zoom range can be extended. The Exilim EX-S200 also sports Engine 5.0 that complements the super resolution technology in offering clarity to the images. Single-frame zoom, known as SR Zoom is 1.5 times better than the usual optical zoom in producing optimum quality images. In addition, the Premium Auto facility comes into action on a single click on shutter button and adds to the beauty of the images.

The card-sized Exilim EX-S200 is 17.8mm thick and measures 14.9mm in the thinnest part of its body. It has a 27-mm lens with wide-angle 4x optical zoom that takes images with 14.1MP effective resolution. In addition to these, there is the CCD-shift IS system, proprietary to Casio, rendering stable images without any blur effect.

The flat-lens barrel and the lens ring contribute to the elegance and compactness of the camera. Simple yet functional in a number of ways, Exilim EX-S200’s design is quite understated. Yet, it is available in a wide array of colors to suit every personality. You can choose from Pink, Orange, Silver, Black and Blue.

The Quick Mode functionality in the camera has been introduced so as to ensure that not a single ‘Click Moment’ is missed by you. This mode enables you preview every image you capture.

The SR technology brings alive the textured or flat areas of a photograph by optimally processing them. This technology adjusts the image contours and the subject’s relief features so that flat areas are taken care of and edges are enriched. The 6x zoom along with SR Zoom prevents any sort of deterioration in the image quality even when it is captured in high resolution.

The Premium Auto function analyzes a range of scenes – night scene, blue sky, sunset, backlighting, etc. – in which the image is being captured. This function also detects faces in frame, analyzes the subject’s movement and checks for the use of a tripod. Premium Auto also optimizes focus location, tonal range, exposure settings, noise reduction, color balance and correction of photo blurs. Exilim EX-S200 adopts a pixel-by-pixel image analysis method to correct the background to images.

No details about the price of the camera have been released yet. The camera is expected to hit the market by September.
