The idea of a fixed projector might sound simple, but factors such as lighting range make it difficult. But Canon has introduced a new multimedia projector, christened as LV-7590 that will materialize the idea.

The Canon LV-7590 has 7000 lumens brightness and 1800:1 contrast ratio. The projector boasts of 5 optional lenses so that you can customize them for a variety of projection apps (rear or front).

The multiple lens option allows for variable installation purposes. Besides, the projector has Color Control capabilities ensuring precise colors conjuring up to make a clear picture.  The Color Control Device with yellow LCD panel fiddles with the yellow light and renders optimum brightness in images.

The lens-shift function in the projector can be operated by up to 40% vertically and up to 20% horizontally. Some other features in the same segment include motorized lens zoom and digital keystone correction. The keystone correction can be done by the user.

The optional lenses are characteristically defined as Ultra Wide-Angle, Ultra-Long Focus Zoom, Long-Focus Zoom, Wide-Angle Zoom and 1.3x zoom lenses and are codified as LV-IL01, LV-IL04, LV-IL03, LV-IL02 and LV-IL05 respectively.

The LV-7590 targets at fulfilling the demands of the users for high brightness, optimum quality, images and clearer images. LV-7590 makes possible clear projections in well-lit ambience.

Canon’s new projector has DVI-D interface that is compliant to HDCP. This means that the latest projector can receive 1080p, 720p, 480i and 1080i video signals. However, the projector will be able to display videos in 1024 x 768 pixels resolution. This is a barrier in the path of LV-7590 in becoming a complete multimedia projector. The projector has 5BNC connectivity option too.

The projector also boasts of gamma adjustment system that works automatically. Gamma adjustment monitors the brightness of images frame by frame and enriches black tones, apart from adding clarity and sharpness to the images.

Some other image enriching attributes in the projector include: both 4:3 aspect ratios and 16:9 aspect ratio, 3D digital noise minimization, 10-bit video processing in digital format and 4 image modes – cinema, custom, presentation and standard.

LV-7590 is priced at $8,999. Looking at the limitations of the resolution, one cannot call the projector cheap. But if the XGA resolution does not matter much to you then the price is worth paying.
