Asus Unveils Motherboards Based On Next Gen Intel Chipsets

Asus recently showcased its four new motherboards, which are slated to be lunched in the coming year. Named as P8P67 Pro and Deluxe, Maximus IV Extreme and Sabertooth 3D, these new motherboards will proffer support for the upcoming Sandy Bridge by Intel.

So, Asus fans eagerly looking forward to the launch of Sandy Bridge shall definitely find this news worth.

On likening the Asus P8P67 Pro to the Asus P8P67 Deluxe, the Deluxe version showed striking differences. The Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard adds another fan connector to the number present in the Pro version. Besides, the Deluxe comes with more USB ports, board-mounted buttons for better power control, BIOS output code display and reset.

Asus P8P67 Deluxe also sports a heatpiped heat sink although the function of this second heat sink is not prominent. All we can do is just guess & find that the smaller heat sink in Asus P8P67 Pro sufficiently cools the board, while the heatpiped heat sink in the Deluxe offers more chances of higher temperatures or overclocking.

Plus, Asus P8P67 Deluxe falls behind P8P67 Pro in terms of the fact that the PCIe x1 slot is fit for x1 card, thanks to the placement of the heatpiped i.e. second heat sink. However, many other high-end motherboards cause the same problem with regards to fitting of x1 cards.

Maximus IV motherboard features 4 full PCIe x16 slots, one x4 slot and one x1 slot. The x4 slot is located at the motherboard’s bottom, which is a unique and useful feature since users with OCZ RevoDrive-like PCIe storage device in mind can make use of it.

Acer Sabertooth is the most attention-grabbing of all the four so much so that it leaves the people gaping. The back panel of Sabertooth is quite like the other three motherboards by Asus that have been just mentioned. However, the Sabertooth features only three PCIe x1 slots and two PCIe x16 slots. It can be said that Sabertooth has been especially designed for durability and high reliability.

Supposedly, these brand-new motherboards won’t suffer from the problem of other Asus motherboards i.e., the lack of especially ventilated area under board, there are chances of complete baking of the components. As yet, there is no word from Asus as to the price & availability of these four motherboards.
