A much awaited product from Apple, the new iPad has hit the market. It still remains a question whether the product is capable enough to make a significant impact on the targeted consumer segment. The much hyped product was promoted by Apple as a technological replacement for laptops and smart phones.

Compared to Apple’s iPhone and smart phone the iPad lacks in its usability due to many factors. Though the large screen and larger keyboard ensures a better use of the product, the expectations on the latest product were not met to the full extend.

Apple has embedded a faster processor into iPad to optimize the operations but still the product remains as just an oversized iPhone and that too without call capability. The latest trend in the market is all about netbooks and iPad is never a replacement to netbook though Apple says so. The product lacks multitasking capability and is not enough to place itself as a better product than Apple’s own iPhone. It is going to be tough time for Apple and iPad as the product fails to get placed in the proper segment, it is not an iPhone nor a netbook but somewhere in between which is yet undefined.

An extensive analysis of the technology and capability of the device reveal that it lacks many expected features including multitasking and flash support. Its remains a wonder how to product is expected to showcase the best web experience without having a flash support. Considering the targeted users, Apple could have made iPad widescreen one. How much would have cost to add a camera to the product, Apple might have not though about it. This promising product lacks a camera which is considered as the worst drawback by many gadget geeks.

Apple iPad lacks a USB port, and its hard to find out the reason why Apple designed it avoiding any USB support. In this high definition world, the Apple iPad comes with no HD output nor does it have a SD card slot. Time when users run out of memory is not far as the product comes with just 64GB of memory space. Apple also demands the user to pay for any essential peripherals like keyboard and USB to use with the iPad.
