Updating its lineup of TravelMate notebooks, Acer has now announced the availability of a new TravelMate 5542 notebook which, similar to other notebooks in the same lineup, is also targeted towards the Taiwan-based computer manufacturers and business consumers.

The brand new notebook from Acer features an AMD central processing unit, a Bluetooth module, a webcam, an ATI video card, and compatibility with Windows 7 OS.

Configuration & Specs

Technically speaking, the portable system sports a processor from AMD. Plus, users are allowed to opt from Athlon II P340 and Turion II Dual-Core mobile CPU. The Athlon II P340 brags of a L2 cache of 1MB with 2.2GHz clock speed, whereas the Turion II Dual-Core comes with a L2 cache of 2MB with 2.4GHz clock speed.

Besides, the new Acer’s TravelMate 5542 is also capable of caching a system memory of 4GB. It also comes with a high capacity HD of 320GB and 250GB. The TravelMate 5542 also sports a wide screen display of 15.6-inch that offers up to 1366-by-768 pixels native resolutions. Powered by an ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics controller, the 15.6-inch wide screen also features LED backlighting. The graphics controller fully supports the DirectX 10.1.
