After being successful in various other fields, LED technology has now reached the PC monitors. Owing to the same, innumerable manufacturers have flooded the market with new models of LED monitors for desktop PCs.

Acer, too, has launched a new S1 series of LED PC monitors which are power-efficient and produce optimum picture quality with much reduced footprint.

The new S1 series of LED monitors by Acer have been ergonomically crafted with a black-colored polished display frame, clean lines and a porcelain-like stand. The new LED monitors by Acer maintain an ultra-slim form factor. The three models in the sizes of 23, 21.5 and 20 inches have different degree of slimness. While the 20-inch model maintains a profile of 13mm, the 23-inch model and 21.5-inch model maintain a profile of lesser than 15mm.

Besides, the LED monitors have a contrast ratio of 12,000,000:1 that ensures better view and enhanced features. Also, the Adaptive Contrast Management feature, proprietary to Acer, ensures crisp graphics and amazing picture quality. Because of Adaptive Contrast Management, users can adjust the images so as to improve their detail and gradation. This is highly effective in extremely dim or bright scenes.

The new LED PC monitors by Acer have an aspect ratio of 16:9 that ensures that users will be able to view HD content minus any sort image distortion that arises in case of ill-matched aspect ratios.

Both the monitors sport 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution that further augments the quality of video. All the monitors in the S1 series have a response time of 5ms, brightness of 250cd/m2 along with 16.7M colors.

These monitors are easily connected to office peripherals and Home Entertainment devices via either a VGA or a DVI port. Each of these ports bears HDCP protection. The 23-inch LED monitor has HDMI connector that is entirely digital.

Supported by LED backlighting technology, all the three monitors are free from hazardous halogen. These monitors are also 68% more energy efficient. The S1-series is made in compliance with RoHS and EnergyStar 5.0 standards.

All the models will hit the US market by this month. The 20-inch monitor (aka S201HL) will be priced at $169.99, 21.5-inch monitor (aka S211HL) will be priced at $219.99 and 23-inch monitor (aka S231HL) will be priced at $269.99.
